Swift was designed to be suspended over the escalator which joins Warrington bus station with the Golden Square shopping centre.

It is about 8 metres long and is made from 6mm aluminium sheet. It has four main structures, (each made from three parts). It is suspended by 14 steel cables.

 

 

 

In the bottom left photo, the sculpture is being hauled into place sitting on a temporary aluminium stand.

 

The bottom right photo is a computer generated view using Rhino-3D with which the initial design work was done.
